Dighton Police and Fire Departments Remind National Grid Customers to Stay Informed with Personalized Alerts
DIGHTON — Fire Chief Christopher Maguy and Police Chief Robert MacDonald would like to remind Dighton residents who are National Grid customers that they can sign up to receive alerts from the company.
National Grid can send alerts by text, email or phone call when an outage is detected on your property, when restoration estimates and updates are available or when weather warnings are issued in your neighborhood.
If you sign up to receive National Grid text alerts, you can also participate in two-way communication with the company by texting to report outages or to check on the progress of your outage restoration.
You will need your 10-digit electric account number to enroll in text alerts.
To start texting with National Grid, use any of the below commands:
- Text REG to 64743 to sign up for text alerts.
- Text OUT to 64743 to report an outage.
- Text SUM to 64743 followed by your town, county, or state to get a summary of outages in your area. *You do not need to be registered for text alerts to use this function.*
You can also text HELP to 64743 for the full list of commands.
To learn more about National Grid digital alerts visit the company’s Stay Connected page.
