Rowley Water Department Announces Mandatory Water Use Restrictions
ROWLEY — The Rowley Water Department reports that a mandatory water use restriction is being implemented today.
Residents are asked not to use any non-essential water between 9 a..m and 5 p.m., seven days a week until the restriction is lifted.
Non-essential water uses include car washing, lawn sprinklers and pool filling. Essential water uses include supporting livestock and farming.
The restriction follows MassDEP regulations and was necessitated by changes in the Parker River stream flow, which fell below six cubic feet per second (CFS) for three days.
Residents who violate the water use restriction may face a civil fine. To learn more, see the Rowley Water Department’s Water Use Restriction Policy.
