Hull Police Arrest Man on Charge of Tagging Property at Fort Revere Park

HULL — Chief John Dunn reports that the Hull Police Department arrested a man who was allegedly spray painting a wall at Fort Revere Park on Sunday, July 7.

RYAN HEWLETT, AGE 19, OF ROCKLAND was charged with Tagging Property (misdemeanor). He was expected to be arraigned Monday at Hingham District Court.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Hull Police received a report of people actively spray painting at Fort Revere Park.

Upon arrival, Hull Police officers located two individuals, one who was later identified as HEWLETT, holding spray paint cans. Officers could smell fresh paint and observed wet black paint on a wall of the fort.

HEWLETT was placed under arrest and taken to the Hull Police station to be booked. His bail was set at $240. HEWLETT posted bail and was subsequently released on Sunday.

The second individual, who had been detained by the officers, was later determined to be a juvenile. The juvenile was taken to the police station and was released to a guardian.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
