Andover Police Department Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Incident

Motorists Asked to Avoid Area During 

ANDOVER — Chief Patrick Keefe reports that the Andover Police Department and the Essex County District Attorney’s Office are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle.

Andover Police and Fire Rescue units responded to the intersection of Whittier and Elm streets at approximately 5:30 a.m. Monday after a jogger called 911 to report that a motorcyclist had crashed into a utility pole in the area.

The motorcyclist, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Andover Police are asking motorists and pedestrians to avoid the areas of Elm and Whittier streets and Elm and Summer streets as detectives conduct their work.

The crash is under investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
