Methuen Police Investigating Shooting Involving Local Teen
METHUEN — Mayor James P. Jajuga and Chief Joseph Solomon report that the Methuen Police Department is investigating the shooting of a local 17-year-old male today.
At approximately 12:15 p.m., Methuen Police responded to a report that a man had been pushed out of a motor vehicle on Davis Road. Upon arrival, police discovered a 17-year-old Methuen male had suffered a single gunshot wound to his upper body. The teen has been identified as a Methuen High School student.
An initial investigation has indicated that the teen was shot at an unknown location and driven to Davis Road before he was pushed out of the vehicle.
The Methuen Fire Department also responded to the scene, and the teen was airlifted to an area hospital to receive treatment for serious, life threatening injuries.
Methuen Police are actively investigating this incident. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Methuen Police Department at 978-983-8698.
