Raynham Fire Department’s Barrett Johnson to be Promoted to Deputy Chief

RAYNHAM — Chief James T. Januse is pleased to announce that Barrett Johnson will be promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief on July 1.

Johnson, who is currently a captain of the department, will start his new role when current Deputy Chief Bryan LaCivita becomes the department’s new chief following the retirement of Chief Januse.

“Barrett has been a valuable asset to our department throughout his career. With him and Chief LaCivita taking the reigns of the department when I retire, I am confident that the town will be in good hands,” Chief Januse said.

Johnson began his career with the Raynham Fire Department as a call firefighter in 1995. He was hired full-time in 1998. In 2012, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. He was named Captain in 2017.

Johnson, who also serves a paramedic for the department, will be responsible for assisting the chief with fire operations, fire prevention and administrative duties, once his promotion takes affect.

A promotion ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 11 at Raynham Town Hall at 7 p.m., where he will be accompanied by his wife and three children.
