East Bridgewater Police Investigation Determines Man Who Approached Girl at Bus Stop was Newspaper Delivery Person, No Criminal Intent Found

EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Scott Allen reports that an East Bridgewater Police Department investigation into a report that a man approached a teen girl Thursday morning has determined that the man was actually a newspaper delivery person.

The thorough investigation, which resulted in the identification of the man has determined that there was no criminal intent, and police have closed the case.

“This appears to be a case of mistaken identity and mistaken intent,” Chief Allen said. “However, we always commend people for coming forward when they feel that something is out of the ordinary or suspicious, and we would rather conduct a thorough investigation and find no criminal activity than not be called about a dangerous situation.”
