Ipswich Police Investigating Hit-and-Run

IPSWICH — Chief Paul Nikas reports that the Ipswich Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance following a hit-and-run incident that took place on Monday night.

At 9:32 p.m. on Monday, police responded the intersection of Pleasant Street and Brownville Avenue for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.

Upon arrival, police found a 51-year-old Ipswich woman suffering from multiple traumatic injuries. She was taken to Beverly Hospital by ambulance, and was still at the hospital and in stable condition on Tuesday morning.

The driver who struck the victim fled the scene.

Ipswich Police are actively investigating this incident and are searching for a dark-colored sedan that was operating in the Pleasant Street neighborhood and Brownville Avenue area. Anyone with security camera footage or who saw or heard anything around the time of the incident is encouraged to call the Ipswich Police Department at  978-356-4343.
