Rowley Water Department Announces Rate Decrease
ROWLEY — The Rowley Water Department announces that it has lowered its rates across all three usage tiers.
The rate decrease is the result of the Water Department’s determination that its increasingly predictable expenses would enable it to reduce rates. The new rates will begin for water usage commencing on July 1 — with the typical customer experiencing a 10 percent drop in cost — and will hold steady for the next three years.
Customers will notice the change beginning with their July bills.
“The Rowley Water Board is pleased to announce this reduction in
rates,” Water Board Chairman Mark Emery said. “It is a testimony to the hard work and professionalism of our staff that we have managed to do this. Going forward we will continue to look for opportunities to reduce our rates even further.”
With the change, the rate for usage under 3,000 gallons will decrease from $20.13 per gallon to $18 per gallon. The rate for usage between 3,001 and 30,000 gallons will drop from $24.18 to $22 and the rate for usage about 30,001 gallons will drop from $26.88 to $25.
