Easton School Officials Investigating Swastika Drawn in Oliver Ames High School Bathroom

EASTON — Superintendent Lisha Cabral reports that Easton school officials are investigating after a swastika was found drawn on a sink inside of a restroom at Oliver Ames High School today.

“This type of hate speech and hateful action has no room here in our schools or in our community,” Superintendent Cabral said. “As a district we have been working hard this year to educate our students and foster an attitude of tolerance of all people. We will continue that effort and will not be deterred by the actions of the person who committed this act.”

The swastika was found Friday afternoon in a boys bathroom by an individual who immediately reported it to school officials. The pencil drawing has since been removed.

The school department is working with the Easton Police School Resource Officer to try and determine who drew the swastika and the incident remains under investigation.

A message was sent home to parents Friday afternoon notifying them of the incident.
