MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA — Town Administrator Gregory Federspiel is pleased to announce that Manchester-by-the-Sea was named one of the best places to live by Boston Magazine.

In an article published on Feb. 26, Boston Magazine highlighted 12 suburban towns — with their walkable downtowns, restaurants and living space — as appealing to the current generation of home buyers.

Manchester-by-the-Sea, the article reads, is particularly appealing due to its close proximity to Singing Beach. There’s also a commuter rail stop right in the middle of the village, which has myriad shopping and dining options, along with ample community events throughout the year.

In the summer, residents and visitors alike, when not at the beach, spend their nights lounging at Masconomo Park, overlooking the harbor, listening to free concerts.

“We’re extremely honored to have been recognized by Boston Magazine as one of the top places to live around Boston,” Town Administrator Federspiel said. “Manchester-by-the-Sea’s quintessential New England village, with an array of restaurants and small businesses surrounded by a picturesque landscape, are just a few of the many great things about this seacoast town.”

Federspiel also noted that residents highly value the excellent school system, ranked one of the best in the state.
