The Irish American Police Officers Association (IAPOA) is accepting nominations for the 20th Annual Awards Dinner to be held on Saturday, May 4th at the Malden Irish American Club, 177 West Street in Malden. Active IAPOA members may submit nominations for recognition in the following categories,
- Valor
- Life Saving
- Investigations
- Meritorious Service
- Community Service
- Humanitarian Acts.
Members can submit nominations to https://irishamericanpolice.org/awards/2019-nominations no later than Friday, March 15th and must include supporting documentation such as police reports, department commendations or news articles. Nominations will be reviewed by the Awards Committee and recipients will be notified on or before April 1st. Award recipients and their guest will be invited to attend as guests of the IAPOA. Other family, friends, colleagues of recipients are invited to purchase tickets or tables to this very special evening which includes a performance by the IAPOA Pipes and Drums, Irish step-dancers and a family style meal.
In addition to the awards mentioned above, we will be honoring the line of duty deaths of Sgt. Sean Gannon, Yarmouth P.D. and Sgt. Michael Chesna, Weymouth P.D. by presenting them with the Medal of Honor, posthumously. The families of both officers will be invited as guests of the association.
