Tyngsborough Home Invasion/Stabbing Suspect Turns Himself In

TYNGSBOROUGH — Chief Richard D. Howe reports that a wanted suspect has turned himself into police this evening.

DEQUAN HAGEN, AGE 19, OF NASHUA, NEW HAMPSHIRE was arrested and charged with:

• Armed Robbery
• Home Invasion
• Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
• Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
• Malicious Destruction of Property over $1,200

On Thursday, Jan. 3, at 8:13 p.m. police were dispatched to a home on Frost Road for a report of a past stabbing. Upon arrival, a responding officer learned that a 17-year-old male had been transported to an area hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening after suffering a stab wound to his abdomen.

Tyngsborough Police initiated an on-scene investigation and determined that a suspect, who was positively identified as HAGEN, had come to the victim’s home to purchase a pair of sneakers, and an altercation began after HAGEN allegedly attempted to flee the home without paying for the shoes.

Officers observed damage to a door to the home’s garage as well as blood on the floor. After further investigation, officers determined that HAGEN allegedly fled to his vehicle after the attempted theft and returned with a knife. He then allegedly forced his way into the home and assaulted the victim.

Chief Howe wishes to remind residents that the Tyngsborough Police Department is available as a safe meetup spot for those completing online transactions in town. A sign in front of the police station indicates the designated location of the meetup spot.

HAGEN will be held pending his arraignment Monday in Lowell District Court.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
