Andover Police Narcotics Detectives Arrest Two, Seize Kilogram of Cocaine

ANDOVER — Chief Patrick Keefe reports a man and a woman were arrested Wednesday evening after an investigation following a traffic stop turned up a large quantity of cocaine.

Andover Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Couple for Cocaine Trafficking

ANDOVER — Chief Patrick Keefe reports a man and a woman were arrested Wednesday evening after an investigation following a traffic stop turned up a large quantity of cocaine.

At 4 p.m. Wednesday, Andover Police narcotics detectives were conducting surveillance on River Road when they observed activity consistent with drug distribution activity. Detectives John Delaney, Michael Lane and Matthew Hughes conducted a traffic stop of the suspicious vehicle.

As a result, approximately 1 kilogram of cocaine was located and seized.

FELIPE FERNANDES, AGE 34,  and LIDIANE BRASILEIORO FERNANDES, AGE 24, BOTH OF TEWKSBURY were arrested. They were each charged with one count of Trafficking in More than 200 Grams of a Class B Substance (Cocaine).

The suspects were held at the Andover Police Department pending arraignment Friday at Lawrence District Court. FELIPE FERNANDES is being held on $500,000 bail, and LIDIANE BRASILEIORO FERNANDES is being held on $150,000 bail.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
