Gloucester Police Seeking Information on Hit and Run

GLOUCESTER — Chief John McCarthy and the Gloucester Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in solving a hit and run crash that occurred early Sunday morning, shortly after midnight.

Police are seeking information about a newer model, darkly colored sport utility vehicle that struck a pedestrian on Main Street near Haven Terrace. The vehicle struck a 60-year-old woman from Manchester-by-the-Sea, and the driver did not stop.

The victim sustained serious injuries, including several broken bones and is recovering at an area hospital.

The vehicle should have damage to the right front headlight area and passenger’s side mirror.

If anyone has any information on the vehicle or it’s operator, please contact the Gloucester Police Department at 978-283-1212.
