King Philip DECA Looks Forward to Continued Success This School Year
WRENTHAM — King Philip DECA Vice President of Marketing Emma Daly would like to provide an update on the high school’s business club:
It is a new year for King Philip DECA, the high school’s internationally recognized student business club.
Last school year was a success for KP DECA after taking home several awards at the annual International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia in April. KP DECA members were recognized for their efforts in community service, public relations, and entertainment promotion. Members of the group were also awarded with two second place DECA Glass awards for their overall entrepreneurship projects.
Class of 2018 KP graduate Jaron May had a very successful term as the Executive President of DECA’s nationwide network of high school chapters.
More exciting things lie ahead for this year’s group as King Philip DECA will be welcoming sophomores into their chapter for the first time.
Elections for junior and sophomore representatives were held in September. These students will be joining the officer team and will represent the junior and sophomore classes. The entire officer team will be attending the Fall State Leadership Conference at Bentley University in Waltham on Oct. 17.
This year, KP DECA’s senior officers are:
- President Jake Anderson
- Vice President of Leadership Kylie Breen
- Vice President of Hospitality Hayden Doherty
- Vice President of Finance Lauryn Weber
- Vice President of Career Development Jamie Buckley
- Vice President of Marketing Emma Daly
In September, the members used the high school’s annual open house as an opportunity to promote their projects and recruit new members.
The annual King Philip DECA breakfast will be held on Nov. 9 as the official opening of the King Philip DECA season. Parents and students will come together to celebrate the induction of the senior officers and the new members. All are excited for what the 2018 King Philip DECA season has in store.
