Holbrook Police to Participate in National Coffee with a Cop Day

HOLBROOK — Chief William Smith is pleased to announce that the Holbrook Police Department will be participating in National Coffee with a Cop Day next week.

“We invite residents to come to the station and have a casual conversation with some of our officers about what community issues are important to them,” Chief Smith said.

WHEN:

Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 9-11 a.m.

WHERE:

Holbrook Police Station, 300 South Franklin St.

WHAT:

Residents, business owners and community members are invited to meet with Holbrook Police officers to engage in meaningful conversation over a cup of coffee — or two.

There is no set agenda for the event, but rather a chance for residents to meet the officers who serve their community, ask questions and express any concerns they may have.

The event is part of National Coffee with a Cop Day, conducted in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.

The first Coffee with a Cop event was held in 2011 by the Hawthorne Police Department in California. The initiative has since spread globally as a simple but effective method of bringing police and communities together.
