Gloucester Police and Fire Departments to Host Community Safety Day

GLOUCESTER — Police Chief John McCarthy and Fire Chief Eric Smith are pleased to announce that their departments will host Community Safety Day this weekend to benefit Cops For Kids With Cancer.

WHO: 

Several public safety agencies from the local, state and federal levels

WHEN:

Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (rain date: Sept. 30)

WHERE:

Harbor Loop

WHAT: 

The Gloucester Police and Fire Departments will display a wide variety of their emergency response vehicles, and residents will have a chance to meet firefighters and police officers, and interact with the police department’s K-9 unit.

The U.S. Coast Guard will also offer tours of its vessels and base.

Tickets cost $5, with all proceeds benefiting Cops For Kids With Cancer. Children may attend free of charge. The event will also feature live music and food.
