Burlington Fire Department Invites Residents to Open House
BURLINGTON — Fire Chief Steven Yetman and Fire Lt. Todd Ficociello would like to invited all families and residents to attend an open house at the Burlington Fire Department, as part of the national Fire Prevention Week programming in October.
WHEN:
Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WHERE:
Burlington Fire Department Headquarters, 21 Center St. Burlington
WHAT:
The Burlington Fire Department Open House event promises fun for all ages with plenty of vital safety tips that can keep your family safe in the event of a fire in your home.
Papa Gino’s will be offering free pizza and goodies, and Wegman’s will be on-hand with free snacks and beverages.
Firefighters will demonstrate lifesaving techniques and will show how the world-renown Jaws of Life hydraulic rescue tool works.
Children will also have the chance to climb aboard fire trucks and learn about all the tools and equipment used by a firefighter.
The event is part of the national Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 7-13.
In a fire, every second counts. It is important for members of your community to know what to do if there is a fire. Fire safety education isn’t just for school children.
This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere,” works to educate people about three ways they can reduce the likelihood of having a fire—and how to escape safely if they have one.

This is a free event, and all are welcome. If you have any questions, call the Burlington Fire Department at 781-270-1925.
