CHELMSFORD — Chief James M. Spinney is pleased to announce that the Chelmsford Police Department has welcomed two new officers.

Officers Kaleigh Yuan and Riley O’Keefe graduated from the Northern Essex Community College Methuen Police Academy on Friday, Sept. 21.

Officer Yuan grew up in Chelmsford and, following her graduation from Chelmsford High School, went on to earn a degree in criminology from Merrimack College.

Officer O’Keefe grew up in Westford and graduated from the Westford Academy prior to attending High Point University in North Carolina, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in special education.

“I have no doubt that Officers O’Keefe and Yuan will both make immediate contributions to our community through their work,” Chief Spinney said. “I want to congratulate them on successfully completing the rigorous academy, and formally welcome them to the Chelmsford Police Department.

Both new officers will enter the Chelmsford Police Department’s 12-week field training program as they embark on their new careers.
