Nahant Fire Department Extinguishes Shed Fire

NAHANT —  Chief Michael Feinberg reports that the Nahant Fire Department battled a shed fire on Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters were dispatched to 14 Colby Way at 5:49 p.m. for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters had smoke showing from a wooden shed adjacent to the home. The Nahant Fire Department Engine 31 crew quickly went into attack mode and and were able to knock down the fire before it spread to the home.

The fire scene was cleared at 7:20 p.m., and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is believed to be faulty electrical work. The fire is under investigation by the Nahant Fire Department and Nahant Electrical Inspector Ed Poulin.

Chief Feinberg estimated the damage to the structure and contents at approximately $10,000.
