Arlington For All Ages 5K Coming Next Month

ARLINGTON — Health and Human Services Director Christine Bongiorno and the Arlington Council on Aging are pleased to announce this year’s Arlington For All 5K Race.

WHEN:

Sunday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m.

WHERE:

Arlington Town Hall, 730 Massachusetts Ave.

WHAT:

The ninth annual Arlington For All Ages 5K Race will benefit the Arlington Council on Aging and the programs and services it offers to more than 11,000 seniors in town, helping to make the community an active and engaging environment for people of all ages.

Registration is currently open, and those interested in participating can sign up in advance for $25 by clicking here. The first 400 runners who register will receive a Dri-FIT moisture-wicking t-shirt. Online registration ends at noon on Friday, Sept. 7. For those who wish to register on race day, it will cost $35.

New this year, cash prizes will be awarded to the winners of each group. The top male and female overall will receive a $200 cash prize, the first male and female in each age group will receive a $25 cash prize, and the first male and female in the 80+ age group will receive a special $80 prize.

“The annual 5K race is a fun way to get multiple generations together for such a great cause,” Bongiorno said. “Our seniors have done so much for our community and this is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to show their support.”

Last year’s race raised more than $17,000 and drew approximately 350 runners and more than 50 sponsors and donors.
