Gloucester Fire Department Encourages Residents to Attend Community Blood Drive

GLOUCESTER — Chief Eric Smith is pleased to announce that the Gloucester Fire Department is co-sponsoring the Gloucester Community Blood Drive next month and residents are encouraged schedule appointments to give blood.

“Donating blood can truly help to save lives,” Chief Smith said. “I am extremely pleased that our department will be participating in this great event and we hope to see a lot people there.”

Saturday, Aug. 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

To schedule an appointment to donate blood, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org and enter the code word “Jalapeno.”

Donors will receive a $20 gift card to Jalapenos and will also earn a $5 Amazon gift card via email.
