NAHANT — Chief Michael Feinberg reports that the Nahant Fire Department responded after a man fell while working on a roof this morning.

At 8:25 a.m., Nahant Fire received a report that a man had fallen from a ladder at the Rockledge Apartments, 162 Willow Road. Upon arrival, responding units from Ladder 31 and Ambulance 34 located an injured 59-year-old man on the first floor roof of the building.

Firefighters subsequently lifted their aerial ladder to the roof and began providing aid to the man, who was conscious and alert, but suffered head and leg injuries.

Firefighters were able to secure the victim in a rescue basket and lower him down the ladder before transporting him to an area hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
