Taunton Police Investigating Serious Crash Involving Motorcycle

TAUNTON — Police Chief Edward Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department is investigating a serious motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle Thursday afternoon.

At approximately noon, Taunton Police received a report of a two-vehicle crash near 21 Liberty St. in East Taunton.

Upon arrival, officers determined that a motorcycle collided with a Chrysler Sebring sedan.

The male motorcycle operator suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital.

The driver of the sedan was not injured.

Liberty Street is currently closed and the Taunton Police accident reconstruction unit has been requested to the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
