Raynham Fire Department Responds to Fatal Crash on I-495
RAYNHAM — Chief James T. Januse reports that the Raynham Fire Department responded to a fatal crash on I-495 in Bridgewater Tuesday morning.
At approximately 6 a.m., the Raynham Fire Department received a report about a serious single-vehicle crash on the southbound side of I-495, near Exit 7.
A Toyota pickup truck went off the road and rolled over, coming to rest on its side.
Medfield Fire Chief William Carrico came upon the truck while driving down the highway and pulled over and noted that the driver was unresponsive. Chief Carrico began to administer CPR to the driver.
The driver, a 66-year-old Florida man, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He was taken by Raynham Fire Department ambulance to Morton Hospital in Taunton, where he was pronounced dead. His name is not being released at this time.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section and the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
The Bridgewater Fire Department and State Police also responded to the crash.
