Two Rockland Middle School Students Receive Academic Leadership Awards

ROCKLAND — Principal Elizabeth Bohn is pleased to announced that two John W. Rogers Middle School students were honored with academic and leadership awards at a ceremony earlier this month.

Eighth graders Ramzey Youssef and Monalisa Almeida were honored at the New England League of Middle Schools’ 19th Annual Scholar Leader Awards banquet on May 16 in Marlborough.

Almeida and Youssef were recognized for demonstrating academic initiative, providing service to their classmates and their school, exemplifying positive attitudes and demonstrating leadership in the classroom.

“I am happy to see two of our students recognized for the great passion they bring to school every day,” Principal Bohn said. “Being honored among dozens of students from across the state is a fantastic achievement.”

More than 400 guests, including students, educators and parents, attended the banquet, which celebrated the achievements of middle school students throughout Massachusetts.

The Scholar Leader Awards are organized annually by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Middle Level Educators (COMMLE) and the New England League of Middle Schools (NELMS), with supporting sponsorship from the Massachusetts Secondary School Administrators’ Association (MSSAA) and Lifetouch National School Studios.
