NRT Bus Inc. Loans Buses for Mock Crash Demonstration

NORTH READING — NRT Bus Inc. is pleased to announce that it loaned three buses that were used during a mock crash earlier this week.

On Monday, May 21, the Methuen Public Schools organized a pre-prom mock crash scene at Nicholson Stadium, 49 Pleasant View St.

Between 9 and 11 a.m., students gathered for the powerful performance, meant to demonstrate the dangers of drinking and driving. Three NRT buses were used to hide the crash while a recording of the events leading up to the crash played over a loud speaker.

The recording followed students’ conversations in the car as they were leaving prom, drinking and texting in the car and listening to loud music. It ended with the sound of a crash as the NRT buses pulled away, revealing the scene. 

Student actors, police officers, firefighters and EMS from Methuen participated in the event, creating a realistic depiction of what a drunk driving crash response would look like.
