Rochester City Hall Re-Opens After Suspicious Package Removed

ROCHESTER — City Manager Daniel Fitzpatrick, Deputy City Manager Blaine Cox, Police Chief Paul Toussaint and Fire Chief Mark Klose report that Rochester City Hall will re-open Tuesday after crews completed work overnight to ensure the safety of the building.

City Hall was evacuated at approximately noontime Monday, and a hazardous materials team was called to the scene after a suspicious package was delivered to the building.

The building is open for business today. Federal authorities took custody of the suspicious package and will run a series of tests on the white powdery substance found inside. Several employees were evaluated at an area hospital Monday but were released.
