Catholic Parishes of Stoughton Announce Media Logistics for Monday Evening Services in Memory of Four Stoughton High School Students
STOUGHTON — Fr. Joseph Mazzone, Pastor of St. James & Immaculate Conception Catholic Parishes of Stoughton, announces that there will be a service at St. James Roman Catholic Parish at 6:30 this evening, providing young people and members of the community with a safe and sacred space to remember, discuss, and grieve those we have lost after the tragic motor vehicle crash this weekend took the lives of four Stoughton High School students and left a fifth with serious injuries.
The service will be closed to the news media, and no video or still news cameras will be allowed inside the church.
St. James Parish is located at 560 Page St., in Stoughton. The parish understands that members of the news media may be covering the ongoing events surrounding this tragedy, and Father Mazzone thanks the media for their respectfulness, cooperation, and understanding, as the parish seeks to provide a safe and communal space for community members, including children, to speak openly.
The media is requested to please park in the Cabot Place parking lot and remain across the street from the church.
After the service, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Father Mazzone, members of the church, and any community members that wish to speak to the media will come across the street and be available to the assembled journalists.
