GLOUCESTER — Interim Chief John McCarthy reports that the Gloucester Police Department responded to a tractor trailer truck that was stuck on the beach today.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., Gloucester Police responded to Pavilion Beach for a report that a tractor trailer truck was stuck on the beach as the tide was approaching.

Upon arrival, officers observed a Pepsi truck stuck in the sand. With the assistance of a tow truck from Tally’s Truck Center, the driver was able to get the truck off of the beach at approximately 11 a.m.

According to an initial investigation, the truck driver took a wrong turn onto the beach and unsuccessfully attempted to turn around. No injuries were reported and the driver was later able to continue on his route.
