Easton Firefighters Deliver Newborn Baby Girl

*The Firefighters involved in the delivery will be available to speak to the media at Station 1, 48 Lothrop St., at 3 p.m. today.*
EASTON — Chief Kevin Partridge is pleased to announce that members of the Easton Fire Department successfully delivered a newborn baby this morning.
At approximately 8:43 a.m., the Easton Fire Department was dispatched to 12 Victory Lane for a report of a woman in labor. Upon arrival, firefighters located the woman and began providing aid.
Firefighters Tim Sweeney and Tom Baker — who is celebrating his own birthday today — immediately helped the woman into Ambulance 2. Just as they placed the expectant mother inside the ambulance, the mother entered the final stages of labor. Firefighters Baker and Sweeney, with the assistance of Lt. Bill Fralick and Firefighter Fred Chute, then completed a successful delivery of a newborn baby girl.
The mother and her newborn daughter were then transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton and are both healthy and doing well.
“I’m proud of these firefighters for their quick response and assistance in helping this woman deliver a healthy baby girl,” Chief Partridge said. “We are glad to hear that both mom and baby are doing well!”
