Burlington Police Investigating After Urine Found in Library Restroom Soap Dispenser and Air Freshener

BURLINGTON — Chief Michael Kent reports that the Burlington Police Department is actively investigating an incident in which a suspect urinated in bathroom soap dispensers and air fresheners at the Burlington Public Library.

At approximately 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, officers were dispatched to the library, 22 Sears St., for a report of suspicious activity. Upon arrival, officers learned that a visitor to the library reported finding a cup with urine in it on a shelf in the men’s restroom the previous day. Staff subsequently realized that urine had been poured into the bathroom’s soap dispenser and air freshener.

Witnesses reported that the bathroom had a noticeable odor of urine throughout.

As part of their investigation, officers are reviewing video surveillance footage in an effort to positively identify a suspect.

Anyone who thinks they may have information about this incident is encouraged to call Burlington Police at 781-272-1212.
