Groveland Water and Sewer Department Announces Spring Flushing Schedule
GROVELAND — Superintendent Thomas Cusick reports that Groveland Water and Sewer Department will begin its spring flushing program later this month.
The department will begin flushing the pipes both during the day and at night starting on April 17.

The Groveland Water and Sewer Department flushes the system twice yearly in order to remove naturally occurring buildups of iron and manganese that are present in groundwater, which the town uses as its sole water source.
Residents may experience low or even no water pressure while flushing is taking place on their streets. They may also notice that their home’s water is cloudy for a few hours during or after flushing. That cloudiness can be eliminated by using a high flow faucet until water runs clear.
“Flushing is an essential process that helps maintain the highest possible water quality throughout town,” Director Cusick said. “I want to thank residents in advance for their patience and cooperation despite any inconvenience this work may cause.”
The flushing schedule is a guide and subject to change. Residents should call the Water and Sewer Department or check the website for changes.
