Exeter High School Teacher Named Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction

EXETER — Principal Michael Monahan is pleased to announce that Exeter High School Health Education Teacher Karlyn Supple was recently selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS).

Every year, student members of NSHSS nominate an educator who they feel has made the most significant impact on their academic career, inspiring them to grow and develop as scholars, leaders and citizens. Supple was nominated by a student for her outstanding dedication and commitment to excellence.

“We are incredibly proud of Karlyn for receiving this recognition, which she undoubtedly deserves,” said Principal Monahan. “Both students and parents consistently praise her ability to inspire and form connections in the classroom, and we are extremely fortunate to have her here at the high school.”

Supple has been an educator for 27 years, teaching for the last 22 years at EHS. Prior to coming to EHS, Supple taught heath and physical education at the Friends School of Baltimore in Maryland for five years, where she also coached field hockey, basketball and lacrosse. She also coached girls varsity lacrosse at EHS until 2006, and continues to assist with Exeter Youth Lacrosse and the high school’s junior varsity lacrosse team in her spare time.

Earlier in the school year, Supple was also nominated for the National Life Group LifeChanger of the Year award, an annual program recognizing kindergarten through 12th grade educators and school employees across the country.
