Stoughton Elementary Schools Hosting Family Math Game Night

STOUGHTON – Superintendent Marguerite Rizzi is pleased to announce that Stoughton Public Schools will be hosting a Family Math Game Night next week.

WHEN:

Tuesday, April 3, from 5:45-7:30 p.m.

WHERE:

O’Donnell Middle School, 211 Cushing St., inside the cafeteria.

WHAT:

Faculty members will facilitate more than a dozen activities and math games that families can play together to help improve their child’s math skills.

There will also be several raffles where kids can win math games to bring home, including one where children take turns estimating how many dice are in a jar.

This event is a follow-up to Family Literacy Game Night, held on March 1, that saw over 500 students and their family members attend.

Students who attended Family Literacy Game Night are encouraged to bring their “passport” booklets to the math event. For each activity they participate in, they will received a stamp inside of their booklets. Those who do not have booklets will receive them at the event.

At the end of the night, each child will be given free playing cards and dice to take home and parents will leave with instructions for several play-at-home math games.

Attendees will also be treated to a free slice of pizza courtesy of Papa Gino’s.

Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult.
