Seacoast Fire Chief Officers Mutual Aid District to Offer Leadership Seminar

HAMPTON — President Brian Comeau is pleased to announce that the Seacoast Fire Chief Officers Mutual Aid District will be hosting a training opportunity on leadership and problem solving for firefighters next month.

WHEN:

Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12

  • Registration at 8 a.m.
  • Seminar from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WHERE:

Dover Elks Lodge, 282 Durham Road, Dover, NH

WHAT:

Dr. Harry Carter, retired Battalion Chief and Chief of Training from Newark, New Jersey and retired Fire Chief of Adelphia Fire Company in Howell Township, New Jersey, will be presenting two programs on leadership and problem solving in the fire service.

The two presentations, “Passing it Forward: Leadership” and “Problem Solving: A Continuing Process,” are designed to assist aspiring fire officers, new fire officers, seasoned officers and chief officers.

Both presentations will be tailored to career fire departments on Friday and to call/volunteer fire departments on Saturday.

Dr. Carter is the past President of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) and a highly sought after educator, giving lectures at the Firehouse EXPO and Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) since 1979. He has authored seven books and more than 3,000 articles.

The program fee is $35 and includes morning refreshments, a buffet lunch
and afternoon refreshments in addition to the seminar.
