Bridgewater Police to Host Active Shooter Response Training

BRIDGEWATER — Chief Christopher D. Delmonte reports that the Bridgewater Police Department will host an active shooter response training for members of the public later this month.

The two-night program will offer community members an introduction to the ALICE –Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate — approach to active shooters and other violent incidents.

The training, which is free to attend, will be held at Bridgewater Raynham Regional High School, 415 Center St., on Wednesday, March 21 and Thursday, March 22 from 6-8:30 p.m. each evening.

“This training will help prepare members of our community to protect themselves if they’re ever in a dangerous situation, and will better enable them to remain safe until officers arrive,” Chief Delmonte said. “These types of incidents are completely unpredictable and seconds count, so being able to react quickly can ultimately save lives.”

Bridgewater Police officers will lead the program, which will include classroom instruction and hands-on scenario based training exercises.
