Taunton Firefighters Extinguish House Fire

TAUNTON — Chief Timothy Bradshaw reports that the Taunton Fire Department extinguished a house fire Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 3 p.m., the Taunton Fire Department received multiple calls about a house fire at 12 Beacon St.

When firefighters arrived, smoke and flames were coming from the third floor of the three-story wood-frame house.

All occupants of the multi-family home had exited the house safely when firefighters arrived. The fire was quickly knocked down and contained to the third floor and there were no injuries.

The initial investigation indicates that the fire started on the third floor. but the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Two residents of the home will be displaced due to smoke and water damage throughout the house. They are being assisted by the Taunton Emergency Management Agency.
