Raynham Police and Fire Departments Respond to Woman Suffering from Hypothermia at Gushee Pond

RAYNHAM — Police Chief James Donovan and Fire Chief James Januse report that the Raynham Police and Fire Departments today responded to Gushee Pond where a woman was found to be suffering from hypothermia.

On Saturday, Feb. 3, at approximately 10:20 a.m., Raynham dispatch received a 911 call from a male who reported that he discovered a woman who appeared to be suffering from symptoms related to hypothermia in a wooded area near Gushee Pond.

The calling party was preparing to go ice fishing on the pond when he came upon the 58-year-old woman who appeared to have been exposed to the elements for some time.

First responders quickly arrived on scene and discovered that the woman appeared to be suffering symptoms related to hypothermia. She was transported via MedFlight to a Rhode Island hospital with serious injuries.

An on scene investigation indicates that the woman may be homeless. Her current condition is unknown at this time.
