Bagnall Elementary School to Host Design and Engineering Expo 

GROVELAND — The Dr. Elmer S. Bagnall Elementary School is pleased to announce it will host a Design and Engineering Expo next week that will help promote and inspire innovation.

WHO:

  • Bagnall students, families, community and staff
  • Joshua Verdejo, MIT MakerSpace
  • Erin Erler, Cakes by Erin
  • Ken Aspeslagh, Code and Circuit
  • Shawn McDonald, STEM Academy
  • Tyler Kellogg, Guest Speaker
  • Other professionals from MIT,  Museum of Science, Beyond Benign and more

  • Dr. Elmer S. Bagnall Elementary School, 253 School Street, Groveland

WHAT:

Sponsored by the PTA and the Bagnall Education Foundation, the Design and Engineering Expo welcomes students, families and staff members to participate in an interactive, hands-on event for innovative thinkers, makers, engineers and designers to showcase their work and passions.

To kick off the day, students in Pre-K through sixth grade will hear from guest speaker Tyler Kellogg, a four-time TEDX speaker on how he uses design and engineering process to guide him to develop a growth mindset as a lifelong learner.

The Expo will take place later that evening and is designed to create opportunities for networking, idea sharing and inspiring a maker community. The Expo will include workshops from Beyond Benign, the Museum of Science, MIT and more. The Whalemobile will also be at the Expo, where attendees will be offered tours inside the 47 foot blow-up whale.

Additional professionals, along with staff and student presenters will also be on hand to showcase their passions.
