Winthrop Town Hall Phones Down Due to Technical Issue

Schools, Police, Fire, 911 Not Affected

WINTHROP — Town Manager Terence Delehanty reports that phone lines at Winthrop Town Hall are currently experiencing a technical issue and may not be fully up and running until tomorrow.

The outage, which has been isolated to a piece of failed hardware, affects town offices and departments in Town Hall and some phone lines outside the building. Service has come back on at times Monday, but town officials do not expect reliable phone service at town hall until tomorrow, when a vendor can install a replacement part.

Police, fire, and school phone lines are not affected. 911 service is also not affected.

All Winthrop town offices are open for business, and email service is working normally. A list of town departments and email contacts can be found here.

Any resident or business owner who is unable to find the email address they are looking for can email townmanageroffice@town.winthrop.ma.us and staff will route the email to the correct person.
