Young Artists Showcase Work at Rockland Holiday Stroll

ROCKLAND — To help mark the beginning of the holiday season, several Rockland High School students and recent graduates showcased their art during the town’s annual Holiday Stroll over the weekend.

This year, organizers added a new layer to the event: an Art Stroll featuring the work of young artists who either attend or recently graduated from RHS. The young artists set up individual galleries at seven locations along Union Street to display their work, which featured their broad range of individual styles and strengths.

The Holiday Stroll was held on Saturday, Nov. 25, and featured activities, music and refreshments provided by downtown vendors. Among the artists were RHS juniors Kaili Dummott-Hill, Jailene Escalera, Elizabeth Kelly and Sarah Pollard, as well as RHS alums Danielle Hill (2015) and Sydney Bissonnette (2014). The RHS students and alumnae displayed their work alongside artists from the local collective, 4th Floor Artists.

“Our artists have made tremendously thoughtful and creative work that deserves to be seen and appreciated,” Superintendent Alan Cron said. “I’m so glad they were able to showcase their skills to the entire community, and I’m grateful to the organizers of the Holiday Stroll for providing them with this opportunity.”
