Methuen Fire Department Announces Death of Active Duty Firefighter Patrick McKallagat

METHUEN — Mayor Stephen Zanni and Methuen Fire Chief Tim Sheehy regret to announce that active duty firefighter Patrick McKallagat died suddenly at his home on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Firefighter McKallagat was a six-year veteran of the Methuen Fire Department and the International Association of Firefighters Local 1691. He served the community with distinction and displayed exemplary service to the people of Methuen during his career.

” All of Firefighter McKallagat’s brothers and sisters at the Methuen Fire Department  mourn his passing. Pat was a well-respected member of our department,” Chief Sheehy said. “The work of brave firefighters like him keeps our community safe every day. We are extremely grateful for his service, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.”

Firefighter McKallagat was 37 years old and is survived by his daughter Aliya, parents Stephan and Patricia and brothers Mark and Shaun.

Calling hours are Monday, Nov. 27, from 4-8 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, located at 126 Pleasant Valley St. in Methuen. A funeral mass will be said on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 11 a.m. at St. Monica’s Church, 212 Lawrence St., in Methuen. Additional information will be posted to cataudellafh.com.
