JGPR Names Benjamin Paulin Account Manager for Southern New England

GEORGETOWN – John Guilfoil Public Relations LLC, the growing communications and consulting agency is pleased to announce the hiring of Benjamin Paulin

Will Lead Upcoming Braintree Office

GEORGETOWN — John Guilfoil Public Relations LLC, the growing communications and consulting agency that specializes in government agencies, police and fire departments, education, public health and nonprofits, is pleased to announce the hiring of Benjamin Paulin as Account Manager.

“As JGPR prepares to open its second office, the first and most important consideration — above paint colors, computers and furniture — was who was going to make sure the new office got off to a running start and would keep the momentum going. We found our person, and I am happy to be working with Ben once again,” said company founder and principal owner John Guilfoil. “Ben’s experience and knowledge of the region are invaluable, and I have very high expectations.”

Paulin and Guilfoil met when they both worked at the Boston Globe in 2009. Paulin left the Globe to work for Patch.com and then Gatehouse Media Inc., where he became an award-winning reporter for The Enterprise of Brockton and most recently The Patriot Ledger of Quincy.

In his capacity as Account Manager, Paulin will be responsible for Southern New England and will oversee the company’s work south of Boston, including the South Shore, South Coast, Cape Cod/Islands, Rhode Island and Connecticut.

Account Executive Jordan Mayblum, who was recently promoted from Junior Account Executive, will split his time between the company’s Georgetown and Braintree offices. The company is also actively seeking spring 2018 interns who may have an easier time coming to Braintree than Georgetown.

Paulin has won several journalism awards. In 2015, he won two awards for his series of stories “Forgotten Faces,” chronicling the lives of Brockton’s homeless population. For his efforts, he won first place in the New England Better Newspaper Competition’s Social Issues Feature category and won New England Newspaper & Press Association’s Publick Occurrences Award. He also received two awards in 2016 for his series “Winter in Tent City.” In 2016 he also took second place in the New England Better Newspaper Competition for his crime and courts reporting work.

Paulin is an Easton native and 2005 graduate of Oliver Ames High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in journalism in 2009 from Suffolk University. He lives in Mansfield and is an avid golfer and fan of all things Boston sports.

His experience as a “cops and courts” reporter is expected to serve him well at JGPR.

JGPR announced earlier this month that it has acquired office space in Braintree to serve as its second office. The office is expected to open in November. Paulin starts with JGPR on Oct. 30 and will report to Georgetown for approximately two weeks of training and orientation.

JGPR is also finalizing the hiring of a part-time correspondent based on the New Hampshire seacoast to work with the company’s government and educational clients there.
