Truck Convoy to Celebrate Georgetown Boy’s Cancer Remission

Dump Trucks and First Responder Vehicles to Participate in Truckin’ For Tommy

GEORGETOWN —  To celebrate Georgetown 4-year-old and avid truck fan Tommy Cook’s successful fight against liver cancer, a convoy of trucks will drive past his home this weekend to wish him well.

WHEN 

Saturday, Oct. 14, staging at 12:15 p.m. and departing at 1 p.m.

WHERE 

Farm Lane in Georgetown (staging)

WHO 

  • 4-year-old cancer survivor Tommy Cook
  • Trucks of all shapes and sizes, led by the Georgetown Police and Fire Departments

WHAT 

Tommy’s family is throwing a party for their son following a positive prognosis that his liver cancer has gone into remission. He is a remarkably big fan of trucks of all kinds, so the Georgetown Fire and Police Departments will lead the convoy featuring a variety of work trucks and other vehicles.

Trucks will stage at Farm Lane early Saturday afternoon before proceeding past the Cook family home as they celebrate his courageous and successful battle against cancer.

A Georgetown fire engine, ladder truck and ambulance will be among the participating vehicles.
