City of Rochester Launches News and Events Portal

ROCHESTER — City Manager Daniel Fitzpatrick is very pleased to announce that the City of Rochester has launched a brand new online news and events portal and encourages residents to visit the site to keep up-to-date with the latest happenings in Rochester.

The new website features the latest community news in each City department including city services, business, schools, arts, recreation, and public safety. The site also includes a community-wide events calendar so residents, visitors and business owners can explore upcoming events happening in the City, all in one place.

A clean, user-friendly and mobile responsive layout allows for easy navigation throughout the site where visitors can view all Rochester City news or choose to view the latest posts from a specific department.

Each department has a specific color, with the latest news featured at the top and individual department news throughout the homepage and on their own section pages.

“We are so excited to be launching this new resource for our community where we can share news and events across city departments,” City Manager Fitzpatrick said. “I encourage residents to check out the news portal and share it with their social networks to spread the word about our newly designed site!”

The website was designed and created by John Guilfoil Public Relations LLC (JGPR) as part of the company’s ongoing contract with the City of Rochester to provide communications and digital services for the city. In addition to the city news portal, JGPR recently created a new website for the Rochester Fire Department and has also begun developing a new website for the Rochester Police Department.
