East Bridgewater Fire to Host Open House

EAST BRIDGEWATER — Fire Chief Timothy Harhen and the East Bridgewater Fire Department invite the public to attend an open house event, which will include free pizza and other food and drink, hands-on simulations of firefighting and emergency medical equipment, and an epic candy drop from the top of the East Bridgewater Tower 1 ladder truck.

Sunday, Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fire Department Headquarters, 268 Bedford St., East Bridgewater
WHAT:
“We are excited to put on this annual event which will have a display of fire and police equipment and give everyone the opportunity to try on fire gear, and spray a fire hose and learn what to do in case of emergency,” Chief Harhen said.
After working up an appetite during the event, there will be pizza available thanks to the generosity of Papa Gino’s of Bridgewater as well as other food and drinks.
From 10-11 a.m., there will also be an opportunity to get hands on training from firefighters on CPR, the usage of an AED, as well as narcan training in the Brockton Hospital Mobile Simulation Lab.
Firefighters will hand out plenty of fire safety materials for the adults will be available as well as fire safety related books and other items for the kids.
The open house event will conclude with a “candy drop” from East Bridgewater’s Tower 1 at approximately 1:45.
