Littleton Police Arrest B&E Suspect

LITTLETON  — Chief Matthew J. King reports that the Littleton Police Department arrested a man for breaking into a residence yesterday.

DAVID P. KING, AGE 41, OF LEOMINSTER, is charged with Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime (Felony).

On Thursday, Sept. 21, Littleton police detectives were notified that a Medway police detective was conducting surveillance on KING, who was suspected of committing multiple break-ins in and around the Worcester area. The Medway detective told Littleton Police that he observed KING park his car in the MBTA Commuter Rail station parking lot on Foster Street in Littleton and walk into the woods around 7:45 p.m.

At approximately 8:16 p.m., Littleton Police received a report that a residence on Foster Street had been broken into. Littleton Police then contacted the Medway officer who was surveying the area for KING. Around this same time, the Medway officer witnessed KING return to his vehicle and leave the parking lot, before proceeding to his apartment in Leominster.

Leominster Police and Medway detectives who were conducting surveillance on KING made contact with him at his apartment and after an initial investigation, found stolen jewelry from the residence on Foster Street in Littleton.

Two Littleton police officers traveled to KING’S apartment in Leominster, where he was placed under arrest without incident and transported back to Littleton for booking.

“I would like to thank all of the local agencies involved for bringing this career criminal into custody,” Chief King said. “This is a wonderful example of how teamwork and strong communication across multiple departments can have a highly successful outcome.”

KING will also likely be facing charges out of Oxford, Sutton, Grafton, Uxbridge, Southborough and Shrewsbury.
