Arlington Police Arrest Burglary Suspect

OSCAR ALEXANDER AYALA, AGE 23, OF EVERETT

ARLINGTON — Chief Frederick Ryan reports that Arlington Police Department arrested a man for burglary over the weekend.

OSCAR ALEXANDER AYALA, AGE 23, OF EVERETT, is charged with:

  • Burglary
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Carrying a Dangerous Weapon

On Sunday, Sept. 17, at approximately 2:10 a.m., an Arlington Police Officer was conducting a premise check at a residence on Fairmont St. when he observed the front door of the home to be slightly ajar.

Upon further investigation, police discovered a male suspect, later identified as AYALA, inside the residence. The responding officer called for backup and police surrounded the home. AYALA then jumped from a second story window and attempted to flee the scene.

After a search of the area, police found AYALA hiding in a dumpster located at 98 Fairmont St. AYALA was subsequently arrested and transported to the Arlington Police Station.

“I commend the officers who responded to this case for their quick thinking and strong police work to apprehend this suspect without incident,” Chief Ryan said. “This resident did the right thing by requesting that police check on their home while they were away. I would recommend that all residents request a premise check if they are going to be gone for an extended period of time.”
